The benefits are many. Think of how you feel when you walk barefoot in the sand on a vacation. Do you feel refreshed and happy? Chances are you do and attribute the feelings to being on holidays, but being in contact with the ground has a lot to do with it. The Earth is alive and emits a pulse. All life is connected to this pulse and it is rejuvenating and regenerative in nature, once we are in synchronization with it.
So, I bought a pair of moose skin moccasins with only moose skin soles and am using them to do the chores daily outside. In this way, I am in contact with the Earth. Although as of yet, I have not taken time to sit and revere our Mother Nature, but I have noticed some things.
Walking in moccasins is not that easy. I have tender feet and small stones hurt. It does require more work from the toes and more precision balance too. The sole of a shoe helps balance our weight, but in no sole or soft soled shoes, it is a whole different feeling. Usually when I sit in a car, I am in agony, though today when I drove, I did not notice any pain in my knee at all. I am not attributing it yet to the grounding, but I do believe there is something to it and I am going to do all I can to promote natural healing in these old bones. Why don't you give it a try too?
