Today, my sons moved the main things back to the little house and I am home at alst. My real bed was set up, my old dresser, a piece I stripped long, long ago and that has been with me for many years and the bulk of the kitchen items all came along and were put away. Even the computer is set up in the new home in the spare bedroom on the desk I recently refinished. I feel so great about coming back. The dogs are all outside on their porch and sleeping around the house in the straw. Their houses have not come over yet, but they don't use them unless there is a blizzard and we are not expecting any snow until November, thank goodness, so there is still time for all that.
Spencer, the youngest, is visiting from Edmonton, where he is currently attending NAIT to further his studies in electricity theories. He is apprenticing to become a lineman and Travis is here until he decides is next move, though he is strongly leaning to going back to Vancouver to work with his friends in the shoring industry. The two young men moved the things for me today and I am very grateful. Some were not easy to move, but they are both very strong and fit, so it was not overy taxing for them. We have enjoyed meals together and just the camaraderie of a family is so nice. I am missing my beautiful girl, who is studying midwifery in Australia and my son's wife to be. They are expecing my first grandchild in April next year, so it is very exciting. We will see one another on Thanksgiving when she comes to Edmonton from Calgary where they live.
Family is irreplaceable. Family and friends are all we really have. The rest is stuff we can do without, but the love shared between family members and good friends is more precious than any commodity on Earth and I am blessed to have three wonderful young adult children who love me. They are my world and we are home again, at last. Ah!
