Old Friends

There is more worth in an old friend than her weight in gold. Not that the friend is old, but the friendship has endured for many years, decades in fact. What thrills me is that rather than spend the dollars on a trip to a tropical country, she chose deliberately to come to Alberta in winter to visit me. How did I deserve such a friend?
I drove out to the Edmonton International Airport to pick her up and we had a lovely drive back. Though it was nearly 3 hours, the time went quickly as it does when old friends get together. And, even though we have not spent time with one another daily for the past few years, since I moved to Alberta and she remained in White Rock, BC, it was as though we have always been together.

Our children were very close in age and we made memories when we were young mothers, not only for ourselves, but for our families. There is nothing we cannot and do not talk about and though we are as different as night and day, there is a camaraderie, a bond , that is secure and will never shatter and that my friend, is what old friends are all about.

I am grateful for my friend and feel so blessed to have her spend some time with me at the farm. Life is joyous. It really is.

There are so many nice things about having a friend like ------ that are not easy to put a word to or explain. Often there is a telepathy or sense of feeling or understanding that doesn't even exist between a husband and wife. It creates a special feeling of comfort and trust. Men less often than women find that kind of special friend. I perhaps come close with the friendship I have with my daughter in that there are no secrets and nothing we can't talk about.
Enjoy your time together as in life these moments are for an eternity.
May you and your flock be blessed and remember l continue to intercede that rich good hay will be available for the farm and that a super mechanic will be able to mend your two vehicles without too much stress.
As always,
Moab

Thank you Moab. Hay has been secured and now it is to find delivery for it that I await. Your prayers for that are appreciated.
The truck is scheduled to have the transmission replaced next week. For my car, finding a fender may not be so easy, but I am on the hunt.
I am glad you have a camaraderie with your daughter. I too, have one, with my beautiful girl. Friends, though, they fall into a special irreplaceable category and I am fortunate to have such.
Blessings.
Fluffy
